Zenario is ideally suited to handling documents, whether a small number of downloads, or a large, searchable repository.
When uploaded, documents are scanned to extract their text, so it becomes searchable. They are stored locally, or if very large can be stored on Amazon's AWS s3.
Where security is required, documents can be password-protected.
Like many other data types, the Document data model is customisable, using Zenario's Datasets system.
This means it is possible to add fields such as language, year or date of publication, categorisations, special code numbers, keywords, country identifiers, and more.
Custom fields can also be conditional on each other, so the presence of one field can lead to others becoming visible.
Then when an administrator or authorised user edits a document, they can attach appropriate, custom meta data.
Zenario can be configured to create large, searchable libraries of documents.
For example, a site-wide search can scan all documents and return results, among results from web pages and other types of content.
In another example, a more specific kind of document repository can be built, with a search interface that lets users enter numerous specific parameters.
